Terms of service
Updated October 15, 2026
These terms describe use of Paper Lane's website and connected-agent fax service. Review your selected offer and the privacy information before using the service.
Your account and documents
Use an account you are authorized to access. Submit only documents you have permission to use and transmit, and check the recipient number before sending. Do not use the service for unlawful content, unsolicited fax advertising, harassment or attempts to access another person's account.
Sending, receiving and agents
Review the prepared pages and recipient before authorizing a fax. Carrier acceptance does not establish delivery. A confirmed delivery records the carrier's result and does not establish that a person read the document. When a result is uncertain, check the original fax rather than creating another transmission.
Receiving requires a paid one-time receiving purchase or eligible monthly service, plus your own verified receiving number. Monthly allowances combine sent and received pages, including covers. A $5 one-time purchase covers one sent or received fax of up to 10 pages including covers; one-time receiving has a 24-hour window from verified receiving activation. Documents accepted outside these limits are retained for review. Ending a receiving window does not immediately stop an active carrier call or establish number release. Numbers and features become usable after their setup is complete. Number transfer and release depend on provider confirmation.
A connected assistant acts within the permissions you approve for your account. Document access and sending are separate permissions. You can review or revoke connections in Connected agents.
Offers, payments and cancellation
The selected offer and checkout show its price, page limits and any recurring billing before you authorize payment. A plan selection alone is not payment, and payment does not send a fax. Complimentary access is separate from a paid purchase. Use Billing to review available subscription and cancellation actions.
Transmission timing depends on the destination and delivery provider. Failed or uncertain attempts may still use service resources. For a billing question or an unavailable cancellation action, submit a support request. These service details do not limit rights that apply under law.
Storage and service availability
Keep your own copies of documents you need. Your account's retention setting controls document availability; a fax record can remain after its attachment expires. The privacy page explains storage, providers and unsupported regulated-data use. Features may be restricted when setup is incomplete, capacity is unavailable or use violates these terms.
